Notes: So uh...I'm back? After an unintentional vidding hiatus that lasted more than a year A VID ACTUALLY HAPPENED!!! I watched all of Lost once it was all over so I'm late to the party as usual (though this fandom is hardly vidded at all which I still find completely bizzarrrrre) but here's my take on the story of James Ford and Juliet Burke, stripped down and as honest as I could make it.

I am pretty sure I just died and went to some sort of heaven that I don't even know except it couldn't be called heaven because it was just FLAILFLAILFLAILFLAIL OH GOD I AM SO DEAD. I'm one of the only people on the internet who's actually never seen lost, but this is beautiful. I understand only the barest fraction of the story, but the visuals are gorgeous and the sense of emotion and need in these people is palpable. Just lovely to watch.

Lost is a very interesting experience. I didn't wanna watch it for so long because of my JJ Abrams aversion, but then when I got into Fringe it was only natural to go there. And it's good! And it's bad. But I still recommend it because no matter how insane the mythology got the show delivered on the emotion of the characters. (Although the only other thing I've ever seen RAEGED about to that extent was BSG.)

I was only a sometimes-fan of Lost and don't have the emotional stake in it some people do, but GUH THIS VID. *applause* Gorgeous to look at and touching, I love how so much of it is Juliet's story and you made me feel so much for them as a couple. Perfect vid.

Eee! THANK YOU! :D Yeah, it was quite a challenge to chip away all the peripheral STUPID that surrounded some of Juliet's story to get to the heart of why she's such a brilliant, tragic character. Glad it came through!

That was incredibly beautiful and painful. I stopped watching Lost somewhere in the second or third season (outside forces, nothing to do with the show) and never got caught back up, but now you make me want to watch, if only to see the Sawyer and Juliet Show. There's a frakking lump in my throat right now from the raw emotion in this vid. Brava.

NOT THAT YOU EVEN REMOTELY KNOW WHO I AM BUT I SAW THIS ON TUMBLR LAST NIGHT AND HONESTLY - AS SOMEONE HAS SPENT (PROBABLY) FAR TOO MANY HOURS TALKING ABOUT, ANALYSING, GRAPHIXING, FLAILING AND CRYING ABOUT SAWYER AND JULIET - THIS IS ONE OF THE BEST FANVIDS I'VE EVER SEEN. A NEW HWG VID OMGGGGGGGGG!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Seriously I miss. your. vids and I am so happy to see you vidding again. ♥ You haven't lost your touch AT ALL. This is gorgeous. I never finished Lost past season... uh, 3? 4? I don't even remember. So I have no idea what's going on, but I enjoyed this immensely. The action bits paired with such soft music was really impacting; and quite a testament to your editing skills. Also loved at 2:26 when Sawyer threw the ring and it came down toward the screen hitting the water, and then then it was like we bounced off into the sky with the plane. That was brilliant, the visuals, the motion, guh. Gorgeous. Also loved the whole bit with them not knowing each other and meeting at the vending machine and getting memories back with touch. That was wonderful!

I wish I could say more but since I don't know the source material, I'm lacking. :P So sorry! But I loved this bb, it's beautiful. Welcome back! :D

There is only one word for this vid: AMAZING! Watching all those scenes of Juliet crying made me want to cry as well and then the final shot gave me chills, so beautifully put together, well done :)

Oh wow. I love this vid. It was so eloquent and emotional, and one of the better parts of Lost was the mythology when the mythology wasn't being stupid, and I feel like you really captured that feeling here with all the little symbolic things and gestures and the intercuts with the weird Dharma videos. Thank you for reminding me that one of my favorite things about this show was Juliet, and Sawyer/Juliet.

Ahhhh! THANK YOU for this comment! Let me tell you, it was extremely difficult to weave through all the mythology to find the non stupid bits. I tried focusing on everything that I thought was at the core of Juliet's story and it just made me so angry that her plot with Ben was never truly resolved. :/ JULIET! ♥ I'm so glad you enjoyed the vid!

Oh, this is GORGEOUS. Beautiful use of imagery, and the delicate musicality came through even with a screaming toddler in the background. The sequence around the ring hitting the water was particularly specatular.

I really like the strong focus on Juliet, who will always and forever be my favorite Lost character (OK, maybe tied with Ben). I think my favorite part was Juliet's obvious care for the unborn children and her grief at her continual failure.

I'm glad this is Sawyer as he is relevant to Juliet. He really became a man with her, didn't he? In a way that he wasn't with Kate.

Virtuoso work!

s.KNFBSKDBfksdbf WOW. Well let me tell ya, YOUR REALLY GOT IT. I can't even begin to tell you how happy I am by what you said here. Juliet's story is SO TRAGIC and sometimes I feel like people forget that it started happening way before "The Incident." The fact that she was brought to the island to solve the problem of the failed pregnancies (which of course in the roundabout way she actually ended up causing) under false pretenses, and upon her failure ended up being basically a hostage... it's something that's there but you really have to dig through a lot of extraneous STUFF to get to it! And I'm so happy that it came through for you because I paid extra care with my focus on her. (And that's why there's a lot of Ben there too. They have such an incredible relationship and I think that's the thing I take most offense with in terms of the writing. The fact that the story was basically dropped for no reason. Siiiigh. :/)

And what you said about Sawyer! Yes, absolutely! He matured so much during those three years in Dharmaville, and if you look back it's like what he had with Kate was like a teenage love affair. That's why possibly my favorite scene in the whole show is the dock scene from S6 where he throws the ring. It's just such an incredible moment of these two people who have shared so much and are now adults and just care for each other but are not in love with each other. Gah! I'm tearing up over here just thinking about her reaction. :'((((

Anyway, please forgive my novel! This show gives me feeelings sometimes! Thank you for checking out the vid despite the screaming toddler. ;D AND THANK YOU FOR THE COMMENT!

Girl, you just made my night. I was all depressed about Fringe, and now I want to kill myself... Just kidding! :P
BUT THIS IS SO BEAUTIFUL AND SAD BUT BEAUTIFUL AND ANGSTY AND GOSH THEIR LOVE STORY WAS SO BITTERSWEET. That scene when Juliet looks how the submarine leaves while she's going back to the island with James and Kate will always make me want to go and stop watching. She was so close.SO CLOSE TO LEAVE. Your editing of this whole thing is so beautiful.

Also, thank you for bringing this beautiful cover of Radiohead's Let Down.

I love this vid so much!

Especially:

- the juxtaposition of Sawyer climbing down the sub's ladder with Juliet climbing up

- the images paired with the chorus starting at 0:47

- "Think about your life" followed by the shot of Juliet from 5x08

- the shots immediately before and after "we are the causes of our own suffering." Ouch, my heart

- Another "ouch" for the contrast between Sawyer in Dharmaville in 5x08 and 6x03

- Everything from 2:45 on. ♥

But seriously, this is stunning. I love all of the visual parallels you drew between their individual stories prior to their coupling and how it flowed so well with the idea that they were just meant to be. And I LOVE the ending, how you so seemlessly bridged the gap between the 'real' world and the afterlife and their ultimate happy ending.

But mostly I loved this because it was so THEM and I ♥ them so much!

Right, so I am months late to the party here, but OH MY... OH MY GOD... *wipes tears* WOW, that was... GIRL, I MISSED YOUR VIDEOS!!! I had no idea you'd made another, but when I found out you had I RAN ALL THE WAY HERE-- errr metaphorically, but still. XDD

But honestly, this is just... NO ONE could do a video like this other than you! The way you used such a sweet, gentle piece of music and mixed it up with action scenes and quiet moments and very intensely emotional ones, AND MADE IT ALL WORK! I am... in awe!

This is just... absolutely stunning and touching. I was already a fan of the story of Juliet and James when I saw the show, but since my viewing of LOST was very confused, I stopped watching many times, so I never really managed to look at their story as a whole, and this video does such an incredible job at that. Showing Juliet and James the way they were before Dharmaville - and particularly Juliet! How much she suffered before, with the pregnancies, and then to see how happy she was when she was with James... You gave me a new appreciation for the scene where they find each other again by the vending machine. Oh, so beautiful...

And of course, the bit from 2:20-2:29, with the ring and the plane was just... so frelling perfect in so many ways!!! I LOVE THIS! I LOVE THIS! AND I MISSED YOU!!!
