Notes: The idea for this vid was born late one night after a bout of giggling. So at that point it was supposed to be a crack!vid of sorts. But as soon as I sat down to edit, I couldn't step over myself to actually go there. So I ended up creating a rather serious tribute to Adria's bad-assitude and Vala's inner struggle of being her mother. What I loved about this storyline is the fact that no matter what Adria does, and no matter how much Vala can insist she doesn't care, she really does. Because she can't help that natural instinct.

And while I was watching this video I've noted how beautiful are these two actresses!
They are stunning! But you know that from Farscape and Firefly? And they have pretty hair. :D

Hee! Well you'll be very pleased to hear that when it comes to Farscape vids I can direct you to the very BEST vidders out there. As you were on neural-cluster you must have discovered [info]humansrsuperior's massive stash. You probably know her work from the Who fandom (she's really into that right now). And [info]jagwriter78 makes amazing Who and Farscape vids. I know these girls from a wonderful Farscape place called the Terra Firma message boards. That's where I learned to vid and that's where I KNOW gorgeous vids exist. So go wild with the browsing. Once you're there I suggest you look through the "Comms Channel", that's where the newest vids get posted. Then check out the "I,OT" where non-Farscape vids are posted, and finally browse through "The Terrerium (Archive)" to find all the best vidders stuff in one place. It's super organized and super awesome. :D

Don't expect too much from my Farscape vids, though. One of them is my very first one so it makes me nervous! :D

Now go back to dark!shep or whatever you want to do.....I really don't care anymore,your art is always welcomed!

The part where I could watch Claudia Black fold her laundry (panties!) or play a day-long chess game (omg! can you imagine the hilarity? THE FACES she'd made! OMFG!) doesn't hurt, I guess. But when she goes all "I'm so tough and nothing can hurt me" emo-angsty, I just can't resist at all. And then you throw in some "don't want to grow up" Morena Baccarin and you can watch me melt into a little puddle of meep! Yeah, wow!

The editing is incredible and the song is obviously ... well, Toriawesome. I love the part with "she runs like a fire does", that's just fantastic. Aww, and the clip with Sam and the Vala/Sam friendship and I feel all warm and fuzzy inside now.

TORIAWESOME!!! All right I'm going to use that from now on ("How was the concert?" "Fucking Toriawesome, that's how!" "How's that sandwich?" "Fucking Toriawesome, that's how!"). And that "runs like a fire" bit started off the montage of crazy as I like to call it, so it was all special. My fav part is the end with the Vala emo. Oh she wuvs her little evil girl so damn much!

And WOW, is she right or what? DAMN!! So impressive!! It's just soo amazing and beautiful. This is actually the first SG1 vid I've ever even watched.

Perfect clips and the way you match them with lyrics and how you change up the pace to fit the song. It all works so seamlessly! Really, really excellent job!! :)

Has anyone ever told you that you're good at this? You should consider doing some sort of film work! ;P LOL.

Can totally see it was done by a pro, loved all the scene choices, the special cutting effects and what not, and of course, Tori Amos. (I want Tori be the surrogate for the secret love baby I'll have with Bono.)

I'm getting caught up with my flist and watching your vids and I'm so amazed. You're so talented. It's the songs you pick, it's the editing, it's the characters/pairings..everything about your vids is just perfect. This one is my favorite, it's so beautiful.

I've gotten frustrated with Stargate so often because they seem to throttle or at least not cultivate the really meaty emotional moments...and obviously, I come from a Farscape-biased perspective, where I'm all too aware of what Claudia and Ben (and Morena, for that matter, since I was a Firefly fan before Farscape) can deliver. What I really enjoyed about this vid is how you pulled together all of the little moments and made them into something that's perhaps even more potent than what the show gives. The song is tender and lyrical and you sought out the scenes that really spoke to that...like the heartbreaking moment at 0:42, where Vala stretches her hands out to her baby. Love the ten seconds or so starting at 1:57, especially "fire"...some lovely syncopated editing there!

*sigh* Agreed. :/ I love SG, but it's a completely different formula of storytelling and I keep wishing they would just change it, but that's never gonna happen ever. So I take what I can from it, and I try to put all those little bits of subtextual emotion into vids. Like you pointed out so very generously. *hugs you* And Claudia Black really makes my work easy. ;)

Aw man. Thank you so much! All the moments you point out are my favorites, especially Vala reaching out for the baby. It's such tiny moment, but it really gets to me. As for the "fire" moment...*runs to look up syncopated on dictionary.com*...yes! Thank you! So glad those edits flow together so well. ;)

I love the editing style to the piano. Tori Amos always has such great piano and I love your use of it.

:39 - Cool lightening/gamma change thingy... Yes, those are technical terms.

:50's - Great introduction to her grown up with the turn, then into Vala.

The pacing is wonderful and the whole thing goes so well with the music.
