Oooooh this is awesome
I absolutely love the song choice, first of all - this is probably one of my favorite songs.
You know, everytime I think I don't wanna watch Dr. Who I see one of your vids and think I should change my tune! You use the footage beautifully and it blows me away every time.
The editing, as always is wonderful - I love the fast cuts and flashes and it's all just such a treat to watch :)

Yeah I love this song as well, but it hasn't clicked as a DW vid until this season. Really what always prevented any vid ideas is the whole "her little sister" bit. Now it works lol. ;)

Also you should watch Doctah Who!!! It's glorious as well as cracky.

Perfect intro! And the running - I love how everything runs (no pun intended) smoothly together and it's one long run through the clips.

So..this song was written for Doctor Who? Yes? That just...so set the tone for all of it. It's...I don't even know how to say it, but it's TRUE, it hits you hard through the beat, through the lyrics and everything just fits, you can't really tell where the show starts and the song ends, they're completely entwined.

0:25 - the framing/zoomed frame here is GORGEOUS, even more heartbreaking than the original framing somehow because it's all in the eyes.
0:26 - I love how the quick cuts go from her letting go to her grasping the handle, it gave me that feeling of wanting to hold on onto the memory, onto what's there, which really fits with the look-backs at Rose we had during series 3 post-Doomsday
0:28 The motion as he places his hand on the wall is BEAUTIFUL, it fits the music so well, and then the cut to her on the wall really puts a whole new spin on that scene, as if he's reaching for the memory and not to her through the void/wall, because she's already gone.
0:33 The motion of the clip fits SO well with the music
0:43 I love love that smile on him because you can feel how he's broken inside, and juxtaposed with the clips of Donna is really highlights what good she's doing to him - she's not ignoring his scars like others have before, she's poking at them to help him deal with them and move on. Rose understood his pain and the man, but Donna understands the Doctor, she truly gets him. I'd even say that Donna is to Ten what Rose was to Nine, because they're having a similar effect?

I adore that whole section, the intercutting between the kissing (and licking his teeth, HEE), and I thought the licking the door clip was totally hot, is that wrong?

1:02 HOLY FUCK MAN. The clip from Midnight blending into the clip from 42? That was fucking perfect,same angle and everything. You're a bloody genius.

1:14 The clip from Last of the Timelords with the broken look in her eyes intercut with the assured, confident look in her eyes from The Sontarian Stratagem spoke a million words to me, really showing how she's matured and grown, both with and away from the Doctor.

The whole 'careening' section with Martha, with her in distress and the Doctor being detached? To me, you got it exactly right, just how unfair he's been to Martha by time, just how much he did wrong by her and how much she deserved better. But by the end, they hug and he knows, though it's too late, but she's still fine - with the smile and I love the sort of bounce the clip does at 1:26.

Tish! I love her. And god, I love how it so smoothly transfers from the Doctor to the Master through her.

1:53 I simply adore that clip of the kiss on the beat, perfect with the music.

2:04-2:12 Love the sort of controlled madness of that section, beautiful motion throughout.

2:15 The journal section is BRILLIANT.

2:24 I love how the shape of the watch is reflected in the shape of the dome on Gallifrey.

2:28 Great clip choice, and the follow-in motion with him putting on his glasses.

2:30 Remember how I said that in a few clips in Boulevard of Broken Songs, you gave it such a Martha/Rose vibe? I got that exact same feeling, a connection between them, over the clip with Rose raising her hand and Martha raising hers as well. Reaching out, travelling with the Doctor and being left with residuals, literally and metaphorically ;)

2:41 I love the whole sonic screwdriver section (naughty!) but the clip of the sonic screw driver plugging in made me giggle so much.

That was SO much fun and so awesome. I adore how it was both a fun video and still had content. Timelords, intergalactic playboys.

But what I'm impressed about the most is how you got each relationship right with the Doctor and all of his companions, in such a short time for each too. You got at the heart of all of them, the girl with the shattered innocence (Rose), the woman who's trying to find her place in the world (Donna) and the valliant child who saved the world (Martha)

This is so much fun. Nothing against angsty DW-vids, but the show has so many fun moments.
But for all the fun this vid has depth, if you listen to the lyrics. And you really found the perfect song for the companions, at least for the girls.

The Martha-part - An extroverted kinda girl did tour the world with MC5 - was pure greatness. I had to read the lyrics first to get all the nuances, but: perfection.

My favorite parts:

Around 0:10: The Doctor running to the beat. It really sets the mood for the fast tempo of the vid.
Around 0:50: The TARDIS twirling around and around. FUN!
The little sister part: The Master in combination with those lyrics is even creepier.
Around 1:47: The Master running into the room, the fast music and then the cuts with the repeating. I don't know how to describe it, but this was a WOW-effect.
The whole Diary of Impossible Things sequence is a thing of beauty. The images look like fanart, like wallpapers. Really pretty.
And the last scene with the Doctor walking to the TARDIS and the 'jump'. You know what I mean, it's just a great cut.

So, overall it's a wonderful vid to watch again and again to catch all the little things.

No I do my fair share of the angsty Who, it sort of makes me forget that the show is technically meant for kids which is always good. But I'm glad this thing is more of a fun dance number, lol.

Ah I'm so glad you loved that Martha bit! It really was perfect for her. This song amazed me at how it fit for DW. But that bit as well as the Tish bit sealed the deal.
